For the fourth consecutive year, I'll be participating in the NYC Marathon and fundraising for Tuesday's Children. Most of you know why this organization means so much to me, and I'm so proud and grateful to have the opportunity to contribute to a charity that has done so much for families and individuals affected by the events that occurred on September 11th, 2001. In each of the last three years, I've been overwhelmed by the level of support from friends, friends of friends, mothers-in-law of friends, etc. Thanks to 86 of my favorite people, 2012 was a banner year: we were able to raise more than $16,000, eclipsing 2011's total by $1,000, and setting an individual record for Tuesday's Children's "Endurance Fundraising" campaign.

I'd like to raise the bar this year and have no doubt all of you generous suckers will answer the call. I'm a man of few hobbies, so whenever I have the opportunity to combine two of them, i.e. fundraising and running, I can be unrelenting and overzealous. The last twelve months have been especially emotional for the running community, so my fervor is even more intense; I was honored to run the Boston Marathon in April plan to be back next year, but as Dottie said, "There's no place like home." I look forward to the New York City Marathon more so than any event each year, and your collective support is no small reason for that.

My father would have appreciated each and every member of the Tuesday's Children donor roster about as much as he'd admire my penchant for growing unruly facial hair. No doubt he'd think I was insane for running marathons, but, with friends like mine, I can provide 16,000 reason$ why I continue to do this song and dance. I love this gig, and I can't wait to see so many of you on November 3rd (either on the course or at Brother Jimmy's afterwards!).
